Description:

The Alberta Community Bat Program helps people across the province understand, value, and protect bats. Founded in 2015 through the Alberta Bat Action Team, the program is part of Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Canada’s Western Canada Bat Conservation Program and operates as a charitable project of WCS Canada.

We support bat conservation by connecting Albertans with practical, science-based information. Our free resources cover local bat ecology, bat houses, and how to responsibly manage bats in buildings. We also lead outreach and education events, and conduct bat research and monitoring across Alberta.

Although our program is small, we work closely with a large network of conservation partners to make a meaningful impact for bats and the ecosystems they support.
