Calgary Search and Rescue

Description:

A volunteer-based organization that provides search and rescue services 365 days a year in and around Calgary, Alberta, and Canada. We are a Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) team experienced in urban, rural, and backcountry terrain. We operate under the Incident Command System (ICS) with trained Search Managers and Team Leaders to coordinate safe, efficient operations. The resources we are able to deploy include rescue/support vehicles, a mobile command post, a mountain‑bike team, an Incident Management Team, off‑highway vehicles (OHVs), radio communication equipment, and metal detectors. Calgary Search and Rescue must be activated by a government agency in order to deploy. We work with agencies such as Calgary Police Service, RCMP, Calgary Emergency Management Agency, Parks Canada, Calgary Fire Department, Search and Rescue Alberta.
